The Bridge of San Luis Rey (Dt. Titel: Die Brücke von San Luis Rey)

Wie alt das Buch ist, weiß ich nicht. Deutliche Transport-/Lager-/Gebrauchsspuren (Kratzer, Knicke, angestoßene Coverecken-/seiten). Kaffeeflecken ungefähr die ersten 50 Seiten oben und unten am Buchschnitt, an diesen Stellen wellt sich das Papier etwas. (In der Mitte ist das Buch auf diesen Seiten sauber und glatt.) Zustand ist nicht mehr besonders schön, aber gut genug zum Lesen...;-)

Auf Englisch. - The bridge breaks; five people die. Was it chance of the hand of God that brought them to the fatal time and place? Or were they, in some way, responsible for what happened to them? And how to account for the changes that took place later. Thornton Wilder´s novel raises these questions with compassion and answers them indirectly with an affirmation of the power of love.
