taxi sets out to challenge convention and stimulate the senses with a unique formula of inspired vocals, acoustic instruments, and electronic atmospheres with its debut album ‘blue zero one’ on frankfurt-based infracom! records.
rooted in the dance culture, taxi makes chill out tunes with a song and a message. ‘blue zero one’ is the perfect post-club remedy for poets on a come down.
it's eclectic, disturbing, beautiful, and thought-provoking work.
happy to defy convention, taxi’s new album "blue zero one” doesn’t sit easily within any current musical genre or style.
one thing is certain however – this is an album of exceptional beauty crammed with some of the most innovative, original, intelligent, and sexy songs you will hear this year.
it may be a cliché but: taxi’s ‘blue zero one’ takes you on a journey through jazz, house, soul, blues, and beyond
with the seductive and soulful vocals of joel at the wheel, and the intensity of paul cullen and simon lovejoy’s pulsating production engine, you are guaranteed a trip to remember.
comparisons to portishead, air, and massive attack are obvious but listen closely and influences from such greats as marvin gaye, larry heard, and ella fitzgerald all make their presence felt in this original and unique album.
"blue zero one” is taxi’s first release on infracom! and brings together 12 songs written over a period of nearly 10 years.
