Michael Crichton has addressed a very difficult issue, better than a scientific approach could ever be. The story is ravishingly interesting, adventurous and gripping, I could not get to sleep because I had to read the whole book through in one night - best read since a long time. It is striking and believable how the slightest sexual harrassment claim is capable of ruining business and private life of women and men, therefore, the message of the novel seems obvious: Be very careful and think through the consequences when useing that weapon; at the same time, there is no supporting or downplay of sexually offensive behaviour at work. The story is related to the theme of misuse and molestment of children, which is a cruel and life-destroying crime but at the same time the careless use of such a claim, especially by psychologists and medical doctors, might as well lead to the destruction, this time the destruction of the adult life. Every man and woman should read that novel!
