An independant critical review, featuring rare archive footage

This is a worthy release and should be considered a "must" for fans of British glam rock legends, Slade - especially during their "hey day" era, as opposed to their psuedo-metal resurection of the early 1980's. Although sadly, not a single tune is shown in it's entirety, the sound and picture quality is great, (although, regretably the same adjective does not apply to the motley bunch of talking heads proffering their - occasionally dreadfully inaccurate - opinions and reflections of each song). In an obvious effort to eliminate copyright hassles, the producers only allow us glimpses instead of entire tracks; interspersing aforementioned "head" opinions et al ... Another down side; despite this release being billed as every single Slade released between 1971 and 1991 reviewed in detail, there are some songs that are only discussed (over an audio track of the song in question), and several, (Gypsy Roadhog and Universe, to name two) have been overlooked altogether!
Not withstanding this, the bulk of the early ('71-'74) material is culled from live television performances, many inspired! Now all we bereft Slade fans the world over need is a high quality DVD release of much of this material in it's full glory. We can but hope, and in the meantime buy a copy of this DVD and let the world know that there is a market out here for quality, archival Slade footage.
