This Time was the follow up to Anna's acclaimed self-titled debut, originally released by Crepuscule in 1987. The album marked the debut of her enduring songwriting partnership with Michel Delory, and was produced by Flood (Depeche Mode, U2). The album was less groove-orientated than its predecessor and instead offered stronger, more direct songs delivered in a variety of styles, including uptempo dance tracks (Time For Us, She Walked), ballads (the singles Lake and Tempting) or country-folk (Own Kind). This Time saw Anna truly at the top of her game, and it's a measure of the calibre of the writing that a song as strong as Hammer was then relegated to b-side status. The five bonus cuts include non-album tracks from singles include Hammer and an alternative version of Tempting produced by former Associate Alan Rankine. 70 minutes of music, artwork by Madoka, detailed sleevenotes.
